Got Gas?
Blood, Oil, Smog, War...
Is this Your Future?

A lecture by Maureen Dolan of Citizens Campaign for The Environment on fossil fuels and their impact on the natural environment, foreign policy and our pockets. Maureen Dolan serves as downstate regional coordinator to Citizens Campaign for the Environment (CCE). CCE was formed in 1985 by a small group of concerned citizens who recognized the need to provide public involvement in the course of advancing stronger environmental policy. Today, after 20 years as a not-for-profit, non-partisan advocacy organization, CCE has grown to an 80,000-member organization with offices in Farmingdale, White Plains, Albany, Syracuse and Buffalo, New York. CCE continues to work to empower the public by providing members with opportunities to participate in the political process and thereby advance a progressive environmental agenda.

The lecture will run from 8pm-10pm in room 218 on the 2nd floor CW-Post's Hillwood commons. CW-Post is centrally located on Northern Blvd. in Brookville - Long Island. (Click the link below for mapquest directions)

Protest Institutional Investments in Animal Cruelty!
Friday, October 28th 3pm-5pm
Protests Against Citibank and Wachovia Securities

Meet at 3pm at Citibank Located at the NE corner of Main Street and Woodbury Road in Huntington Village.
(see directions below)

So why Protest Citibank? Why Protest Wachovia?

Protest campaigns have left Huntingdon Life Sciences financially decimated. With little to no public worth remaining, and a looming $75 million deficit, Huntingdon desperately needs revenue to match the money they owe. Most of this debt is due back in 2006. Activist investigators have determined that 5 companies provide Huntingdon with more than 50% of all of their income. Roche and GlaxoSmithKline are the largest of the top 5 contributing contracts. Citibank and Wachovia Bank are some of the largest institutional holders of GlaxoSmithKline stock.

In addition to Citibank and Wachovia being at the root of the financial problem, Wachovia Bank has welcomed GlaxoSmithKline VP Robert Ingram to their board of directors. We as an effective activist community intend to shed light on these financial collaborations with animal abuse, and believe firmly in accountability for their actions. Meet us on the streets in front of Citibank this Friday, October 28th at 3pm as we bring this accountability to Citibank s doorstep.Help us better promote this event! Print out this flyer and hand it out to your friends, or print out this poster and pin/paste it up around your town, school, hangouts to help us advertise Friday's protest.

BAN THIS LECTURE!
What the government does not want you to know.
w/ Kevin Kjonas & Josh Harper (of the SHAC-7)

Join Kevin Kjonas and Josh Harper as they take us on a tumultuous political journey of activism and federal indictments. Kevin and Josh are co-defendants in what is being called the "landmark" "SHAC-7" trial. Both are being charged as terrorists for a dissenting view that lab animals are worthy of rights. A conviction in this trial has been chalked up to being less of a victory for those opposed to animal rights and more of a blow to free speech. Help promote this event by downloading this Flyer!

Each year a week is set aside for recognizing the plight of animals in labs. During this week the animal rights movement takes to protest against the worlds worst abusers of lab animals. This year like last, Huntingdon Life Sciences remains the focus of focus.

NATION-WIDE PHONE BLOCKADE AGAINST FOREST LABS TOLL FREE NUMBERS!
ALL THIS WEEK (MONDAY DEC 13 - SUNDAY DEC 19)

This week, Dec. 13-19, is World Week Against Forest Laboratories, and there are demonstrations going on all over the U.S. and in the U.K. Do your part by helping with the phone blockade on Forest's toll-free numbers. Pick an hour block each day to call during business hours (8-5), and make a call every time you pass a payphone (do not use your home phone). Talking isn'tnecessary if you wish to remain anonymous, and beeping noises can be fun if you get bored with silence. Every call you make to these toll-free numbers costs them money, and the more time you spend on the phone is less time Forest spends with their customers. Let's give 'em hell.

Most important number: 1-800-947-5227 New York, NY

If that number is tied up, here are alternates:

1-800-285-5227 Commack, NY
1-888-636-9888 Farmingdale, NY
1-888-324-7870 Hauppauge, NY

FRIDAY DECEMBER 10TH AT 6PM
PROTEST AT THE FOREST LABS CHRISTMAS PARTY !

MEET AT 6PM SHARP AT THE HUNTINGTON TOWNHOUSE!
124 EAST JERICHO TURNPIKE, HUNTINGTON, LONG ISLAND – NY
(full info, directions, and maps below)

Join dozens of activists as we crash Forests Labs annual Christmas party at the Huntington Towne House catering hall! This will mark one year of creative campaigning on behalf of the Animal Defense League - Long Island against Forest Labs for their continuing customer contract with Huntingdon Life Sciences (ADL). Clearly Forest is suffering financially for it's dealings with HLS and the groundswell of disgust following 5 undercover investigations depicting criminal cruelty to animals and violations of good laboratory practice. With the recent failings of Forest Alzheimer's drugs and “Suicidality [sic]” attributed to the use of their anti-depressants Lexapro and Celexa, Forests' stock is worth 1/2 of what it was this time last year. (see http://otcbb.com/asp/Info_Center.asp)

We will bring this reminder to Forest as they gather to celebrate this Friday. CEO Howard Solomon and other Forest B.M.O.C will be at the Townhouse and so will we!

ALL THIS WEEK PHONE THE TOWNHOUSE AND TELL THEM TO CALL THE FOREST PARTY OFF!
TELL THEM ANIMAL CRUELTY AND TEEN SUICIDES ARE NOTHING TO CELEBRATE!

ADL Vegan Dinner and Protest!
Friday, July 9th
Meet at Thai-USA at 6pm
~100 NY Ave, Huntington Village
Protests will begin at 8pm after dinner and go until 10:30pm

The "dinner and protest" has proven to be a winning combination in the Animal Defense League's fight against Huntingdon Life Sciences. Each month ADL members and supporters gather at different restaurant and for good vegan food and good company, then set out en-mass to protest the home of a financial supporter of HLS. These events not only serve to pressure companys to sever ties with HLS, they also help to show area eateries that Long Island has a growing vegan community and thus encourages them to provide more vegan options.

Thai-USA is a South-East Asian / Thai restaurant with many vegan options, and has expressed interest in serving more, so get there early and bring friends!

FRIDAY, APRIL 23RD, 3PM-5:30pm
MASS PROTEST AGAINST RIVKIN + FOREST LABS!

MEET AT 3PM AT EAB PLAZA
Glen Curtiss Blvd + Hempstead Tpk, Across from Nassau Coliseum

THEN A FULL NIGHT PROTESTS! AT THE HOMES OF HLS' ANIMAL ABUSERS 5:30PM

Every year there is a week in April set aside to show the abused animals imprisoned in testing and research labs that they are not forgotten, and nor are the abusers, profiters, and collaborators to their suffering. As animal activists we hope to provide a voice to a voiceless constituency of animals, we can only hope that we do a proper job in conveying their plight. Inside Huntingdon Life Sciences and other animal labs there are animals who want accountability, want justice for what has been done to them, and most of all want their freedom.
This year the Long Island animal rights community will be taking their disgust to Forest Labs and Rivkin-Radler for supporting the cruel practices at HLS! We demand that Forest sever it's contract with HLS once and for all!
